Ashley tried to eat today, but appeared to have difficulty. I hand-fed her. By mashing her food in the bowl with the back of a teaspoon, I added a little water to make it easier to chew and swallow.
I called Dr. Harris’ office to see how soon the lump would begin to shrink. They said it can take from a few days to a week. I asked if she could get another cortisone injection to help reduce the lump while taking the chemo. They said they didn’t know and Dr. Harris wasn’t in to ask. They told me to make sure she got some food and definitely water. If she stops/refuses food and water, call them and Dr. Harris will have to decide what to do.
